Kratom Strain Colors Explained for Beginners

Kratom is wonderful plant that can help with providing a little pick-me-up in your day,  all the way to alleviating chronic pain,  as well as countless things in-between.

What are all the different kratom colors?  Is a common question I hear from beginner users to the mysterious and awesome plant.

As a kratom connoisseur of several years now,  I'd love to answer that for you. (Later we can get into the different ways that the leaves are cured by the farmers,  in order to bring us the different colors,  but right now I'd just like to get you started on enjoying the benefits of this plant!)

The color you want depends directly on the results that you are wanting to achieve.

For instance,  if you are looking for something to just help you sleep,  or to take away pain, (without concern of it providing energy or not), then you are going to want to start with a red strain. Red strains also usually tend to be the most sedating.

Don't expect the exact same high that you would get from vicodin or oxycodone but you may be impressed with the wonderful feeling you receive. Red bali is a very common but strong recommendation. Some reds can be found stimulating by some users,  but red Borneo is also a good one known to relax.

While on the flip side of that,  if you are looking for a sheer energy boost,  white is your guy. Personally,  I live with chronic pain and white by itself tends to be a little too stimulating for my needs. Although, just a pinch of white in a mixed blend usually adds enough of mood boost to be fond of. The mitragyna speciosa (kratom) plant is actually a member of the coffee plant family. If that is your cup of tea, you might find yourself trading in your morning coffee for a gram or two of white maeng da.  Taken by itself,  it's like an amped up version of coffee! Your co-workers will definitely wonder what Starbucks you went to!

Now,  if I had to pick just one strain color,  my go-to would have to be a green - often referred to as the best of both worlds! A good dose of green is known for giving a bit of a mood end energy boost,  along with knocking out your pain.

I rotate between strains and vendors to keep my to tolerance in check,  but the last greens I got that I truly enjoyed were green thai, and green sunda from katsbotanicals.com
